Our Story
The Beginning
In 2018, I quit my software engineer job to chase my own vision. The excitement kept me on 18-hour days, sleeping 4-5 hours. I poured everything in for 5-6 months.
Then I lost access to all my dev infrastructure. Just like that, everything I'd built was out of reach. I had no backups. Even if I had, I couldn't afford new physical servers.
To pay off debts and support my family, I went back to a salaried job. It took 20 months to get my work back. I drifted far from my dreams. I lived with uncertainty and mounting bills.
The Turning Point
Years later, I kept thinking about how to stop this from happening again. I needed a tool to move my systems anywhere. Turn them on whenever. Back them up easily. Keep them safe no matter where I moved them.
In 2021, I found Docker through a NetworkChuck video. I was shocked at what was possible. I wished I had known about it earlier. It could have changed everything.
But Docker alone didn't fix everything. Moving container files between systems was hard. File ownership broke. As data grew, transfers got slower. Worst of all, I had to keep services offline until the migration finished. Docker also gave me almost no security.
Birth of Rediacc
